Primer is a Chrome extension that gives you sourced company briefs when you highlight a business name on the web. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

Summary

We collect only what is needed to sign you in, run lookups you request, and enforce the free-tier quota.
We do not sell your personal data, show ads, or collect your browsing history.
Page content is read only when you trigger a lookup (toolbar click or right-click on selected text). We do not scan pages in the background.
You can sign out, uninstall, or email us to delete your account.

Information we collect

Lookup information (only when you request a brief)

When you click the Primer toolbar icon or choose Look up with Primer on highlighted text, we collect from the active page:

This data is sent to our API over HTTPS. It is not collected unless you trigger a lookup.

Your full browsing history or a list of sites you visit
Page content when you are not running a lookup
Data for advertising or sale to data brokers
Payment card numbers (no payments in the current beta)

How we use your information

We use your information solely to authenticate you, generate cited company briefs you request, enforce usage limits, cache briefs for reliability, and respond to support requests. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

How we store and protect your information

In transit: HTTPS (TLS) between the extension and our API.
On our servers: Account and quota data in Cloudflare D1; brief cache in Cloudflare KV (up to ~7 days).
On your device: Session token, theme, and lens preferences in Chrome extension storage until you sign out or uninstall.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only to operate Primer:

If you use Google Sign-In, Google's privacy policy governs what Google shares with us (typically your email and basic profile information).

Data retention

Account data: while your account is active
Daily quota: resets at midnight UTC
Brief cache: up to ~7 days (shared across users for the same company)
Waitlist: until you ask us to remove your entry

Your choices and rights

Sign out — clears your session token from the extension
Uninstall — removes local extension data from your device
Delete account — email abhishekl.offl@gmail.com from the address on your account
Request information about data we hold — email the address above

Children's privacy

Primer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us to request deletion if you believe a child has provided us data.

International users

Our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare's global network. Your data may be processed in countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the Last updated date and, where appropriate, through the extension or our website.
